Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

The Recovery Barre is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all people — including those with disabilities. Accessibility is an extension of our core belief that anyone seeking, living in, or supporting sobriety should be able to access our community without barriers. That commitment extends to our digital presence.

Our Standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines describe how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those affecting vision, hearing, mobility, and cognition.

What We're Doing

We work to ensure that therecoverybarre.org:

  • Can be navigated using a keyboard alone

  • Is compatible with screen readers and other assistive technologies

  • Uses sufficient color contrast for readability

  • Includes descriptive text alternatives for non-text content

  • Does not rely solely on color to convey information

  • Uses clear, plain language throughout

Known Limitations

We are a small nonprofit and our website is actively being developed. Some content or features may not yet fully meet our accessibility goals. We are working to identify and address gaps on an ongoing basis.

Physical Accessibility

Accessibility at in-person Recovery Barre classes is the responsibility of each individual host facility. Movement classes aim to be as inclusive as physically possible, keeping the needs of early sobriety and other physical barriers in mind. If you have questions about the physical accessibility of a specific class location, please contact the instructor or host facility directly. Class listings include location information to help you research accessibility in advance.
